A WITNESS está em busca de um novo Diretor Executivo

Para quem não conhece, a WITNESS é uma organização que promove a atenção a questões de violação de direitos humanos pelo mundo afora através da promoção/produção e coleta de vídeos sobre o tema produzidos por cidadãos de todo o mundo. No Brasil, a WITNESS já fez um trabalho bem bacana documentando a escravidão contemporânea na região Norte, além de outras violações aos direitos humanos.



Agora eles estão buscando um novo Diretor Executivo.

WITNESS, an international human rights organization based in Brooklyn, New York, seeks an Executive Director. In a world that is increasingly tuned-in to all things digital and tuned-out to everyday atrocities and abuses, WITNESS is harnessing the powers of visual imagery and human stories to create change.

WITNESS is a unique non-profit organization that has established a foothold at the intersections of impassioned human rights advocacy, the world of visual media, and the blossoming frontier of online technologies. It empowers people to transform personal stories of abuse into powerful tools for justice, encouraging public engagement and policy change. WITNESS strives to go beyond providing individuals and groups with the tools to document human rights abuses around the world, and it does so by training its partners to turn compelling testimony and images into powerful human stories and strategic advocacy campaigns that make a difference. It envisions a just and equitable world where all individuals and communities are empowered to defend and uphold human rights.

For their next leader, WITNESS seeks a dynamic entrepreneur with superior intellect, vision, and commitment, as well as the drive and experience necessary to lead a fast-moving human rights enterprise. S/he will need to build upon WITNESS’ successful foundation and stellar reputation, while remaining constantly attentive to new challenges for the organization to undertake. S/he will need to be comfortable and successful operating at both the grassroots level of human rights advocacy and at the highest levels of political leadership around the world. S/he will be expected to enthusiastically pursue new funding opportunities, partnerships, and venues for visibility and exposure for the organization as a whole, all the while inspiring and guiding his or her staff as they grow.
